January 2025. City Hall prepares to sell the Stratford Normal School

Sale of the school has been discussed in camera, and the upcoming meeting was announced December 15, 2024. There has so far been no public discussion.
At the January 10, 2025 meeting of the Finance and Labour Relations Committee financial decisions were made around the probable sale of the building, without any regard to citizen input. According to Councillor Mark Hunter, “until it’s sold, we probably will need some maintenance, and I think it’s prudent to make some contribution.”
Councillor Sebben objected, as he does not support selling the property. He believes that taking actions around the sale without any input at all from the people of Stratfod would be “precluding the decision to declare it surplus.”
